2024/03/03 - Decent Progress

Hello again. I've not been playing actively as much today as I was yesterday, but I've still made a decent bit of progress (hence today's title). Here's all I've accomplished:

I've made some modifications to my storage building. I think the wood stairs look better than plain planks and give the structure a lot more depth.

My farm is providing resources well. I've made a second enclosure for chickens, although every egg I've thrown into there has proven to be a dud.

Dog update: there are three of them now!! I've decided to name the red one August and the yellow one June. Logically, their baby's name is July.

I've finally constructed another banner to match the one I have hanging off of my house, something which I realize now that I've never explained. I've decided that this will be my settlement's flag. I don't have a name for this place yet, but I'm sure one will come to me later down the line. Anyways, that other banner went to a shield instead of evening out the decoration on the front of my house. Cope and seethe >:>

Today I struck diamonds for the first time. I put three towards a pickaxe and set the rest aside for when I get around to making an enchanting table. The first thing I did with my new pickaxe was retrieve some obsidian from a nearby ruined nether portal as well as a shallow lava pond near my home. I constructed a functional nether portal, although my first trip to hell was rather brief, as there was a ghast immediately above where the portal generated.

I saw some more diamonds at the bottom of the cave I was exploring, but I ran out of torches and broke my sword. I'll have to remember to grab them next time I play.

This weekend has been rather productive, at least minecraft-wise. I've made a fair bit of progress in the past two days, and I can't wait to continue documenting this adventure here for you all.
